The Niagara Area Business Association (NABA) recently awarded Casey Antonissen with a $500.00 scholarship to help in his efforts in attaining a degree in Mechanical Engineering at Northern Michigan University. “Supporting our students supports our community,” said Daniel Freeman, President of NABA, “We wish Casey the best of luck at Northern Michigan University. The Niagara Area Business Association (NABA) recently presented checks at their monthly meeting to three Niagara organizations from funds raised from their Candlelight Snowshoe and Ski Event in February.
Jill Anderson of the Niagara Senior Center, Teresa Depas of Karen’s Food Pantry in Niagara, and Karen Klenke of the Niagara Historical Society each received checks for $250 for their respective organizations.
“We are currently low on many staple items in our pantry and this donation will help keep our pantry stocked for local residents,” said Teresa Depas of Karen’s Food Pantry.
“The Niagara Area Business Association is proud to support these organizations that promote and support our local residents and community. Even though the weather was not ideal for our event, we had a great turnout and the candlelight trails were breathtaking. This annual event allows us to support organizations like these and cover trail maintenance and grooming for the Niagara Riverside Trails,” said Daniel Freeman, president of NABA.Read more here!

The event featured two lighted loops, over 300 hundred luminaries, a bonfire, hot dogs, hot drinks, even a warming shack with refreshments in the woods. Almost $2,000 were raised to support maintenance of the Niagara Riverside Trails as well as supporting the Niagara School System and local community. The annual Fall Fill the bus where Niagara Area Businesses and the School collected food for for Karens food pantry. Karen's food panty helps to supply food locally to those in need.
We have a beautiful set of hiking, biking, and ski trails known as the Riverside Trails in Niagara. Some of the proceeds from the 2016 Ski/Snowshoe event went to signs to raise awareness of this community gem.
Thanks to NABA members Juli and husband Jim for decorating the Gazebo in preparation for the summer. It looks fantastic!
